E-MAIL DE BOAS FESTAS

Do meu primo e grande amigo Raul Carlos, recebi ontem um e-mail de Boas Festas.

Já estou habituadao à sua forma original e universal de tratar os assuntos, mas desta vez não resisti, pelo que tomo a iniciativa de proceder à sua publicação:

Feliz Natal e Bom Ano Novo / Gabon Zoriontsuak eta Urte Berri On / Feliz Navidad y Próspero Año Nuevo / Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

These season's greetings are most conventional but I do mean them, while I urge my closest friends and all the people I like to be in contact with to fight the tendency that turns this season into a time of widespread well-wishing but also of great oblivion.
If this is a time most commonly associated to family gathering and celebration, it is no less announced as a time of a general approach between people, members of a society, the specimens of mankind, and I cannot help wondering...
No matter how comfortable (or uncomfortable) I deal with christmas in privacy, with age I gradually came to think more of those who are poorer, more lonely, sick or to whom injustice has been committed, as they are more bound to suffer, as this season develops and reaches its hights, so commonly in a crazy rush that overruns the values it should remind us of and stand for - throughout the year.

Também te desejo, a ti e aos teus, um Natal muito, muito Feliz, no calor da família.
Entrega os meus cumprimentos aos teus pais e ao teu irmão.
Igualmente te desejo um Bom Ano Novo de 2008, que se perspectivando como sendo de mais trabalho, seja também compensador pelo reconhecimento da tua determinação e entrega nas tarefas que realizas e que continue a haver esperança de que o Natal, possa, um dia, vir a ser verdadeiramente para todos, mesmo para os mais desfavorecidos.
